Camping became popular in the 1950s and the “Camp Site” was originally set up as a municipal facility. Back then, the site was divided into three areas: “Families”, “Boys” and “Girls”.
Since then Perlenau Camp Site has been a stopping place close to nature for many visitors to the historical town of Monschau. The enchanting location in the picturesque Perlbach valley with its abundance of flora and fauna rarities among the steep slate rock faces has something for every nature lover.
The camp site has been run as a family business in the tourist camping tradition since 1977, although many camp sites in the Eifel have since switched to long-term camping. The real thing – our “tent ground” – offers a camp-fire atmosphere, something that’s getting more and more difficult to find. However, it’s the special mix of the natural terrain combined with facility comforts that particularly appeals to the nature-loving, uncomplicated camping fan.On this note we look forward to welcoming you here soon.

Monschau is a unique jewel of historical value. The historical Old Town is characterised by the medieval castle ruins, and its half-timbered and stone houses and offers its visitors a rich mosaic of art, culture and museums.
